Russian President Vladimir Putin called the inadequate reaction of the West in regards of joining of Crimea to the Russian Federation, and has accused Europe and the US of provoking a new Cold War. Such statements the Russian leader has made in interview to German channel ARD which has been written down on November, 13th in Vladivostok and is completely published on Monday, on November, 17th, on a site of the Kremlin. 

"When we hear complaints about the fact that Russia has broken international law, nothing except the surprise it cause in me” — Putin has told. He has reminded about the precedent with recognition of Kosovo’s independence, when the West recognized the independence of Kosovo, where the determining factor in this decision was the self-determination of the inhabitants of the edge.  «Permissions of the central authorities, the country governments on carrying out of corresponding procedures on self-determination of it are not required. Here that the most important thing», — the president has told.

Putin has made the West responsible for the actions reminding times of Cold war. "After 2001, there were two waves of enlargement. This significantly changes the geopolitical space. Furthermore, the number of bases increases. Is the Russian bases scattered around the world? No, it's a NATO base, American bases scattered around the world, including close to our borders, and their number is increasing, "- said the President.
